Frequently Asked Questions

Please call us at 941-275-6221 or send us a message to riceandshinedetail@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

No. Rice & Shine operates 100% self-contained commercial mobile detailing units. We carry our own filtered water supply and commercial generators for electricity. Whether you need us to service your vehicle in an office parking lot, a remote RV storage lot, or a dry dock, we bring everything required to complete the job safely.

The combination of intense UV rays, high humidity, salt air, and acidic lovebugs makes SWFL one of the most brutal environments in the country for paint and gelcoats. A standard retail wax only survives about 3 to 4 months here. Because of this, we utilize advanced SiO₂ ceramic-infused sealants and commercial marine coatings that offer superior hydrophobic barriers and UV blockers designed to last significantly longer.

We closely monitor localized SWFL weather patterns. If heavy rain, high winds, or tropical storms threaten the safety of our equipment or the curing process of our sealants, we will contact you immediately to reschedule. Because clients frequently book details right before a major trip or boat launch, we highly recommend scheduling your appointment at least 1–2 weeks in advance to account for seasonal afternoon downpours.

We calculate marine packages based on the total Length Overall (LOA) of your vessel. LOA includes the total measurement from the tip of the bow to the back of the transom, factoring in swim platforms, bowsprits, and outboard motor brackets.

We can complete full interior cabin and cockpit detailing while your boat is slipped at a local marina dock. However, full exterior hull washing, machine oxidation correction, and trailer servicing require the vessel to be out of the water—either resting on a trailer, sitting on a private residential boat lift, or dry-docked.

For vessels on boat lifts or secured at docks, we use highly stable specialized floating work platforms and extended-reach marine polishers. This allows us to safely and thoroughly correct and seal both sides of your hull without requiring a haul-out.

Yes. We frequently coordinate on-site detailing directly with major storage properties and premium luxury RV resorts throughout Charlotte and Lee counties. Because we are fully licensed and insured, we easily clear the strict insurance verification requirements mandated by local facility managers and HOAs.

No. White, cloudy, or chalky residue on your fiberglass panels is a sign of heavy UV oxidation (dead gelcoat). Standard washes and spray-on waxes will not fix this and will wash off in a couple of weeks. Faded fiberglass requires our specialized 2-Step Oxidation Removal add-on, which physically cuts away the dead surface layer to expose the vibrant, original gloss underneath before sealing it.

Full roof scrubbing and environmental rinse-downs are included natively in our RV Wash & Wax Maintenance package to actively clear away tree sap, roof grime, and the chalky white runoff that causes ugly black streaks down your siding. For safety and structural preservation, our team performs a rigorous manual inspection of your roof's seams and seals before applying any automated pressure.

Over time, microscopic debris like metallic brake dust, industrial rail dust, and airborne tree sap physically embed themselves into your vehicle's clear coat. Washing alone cannot remove them, leaving your paint feeling rough or gritty. Our Clay Bar Paint Decontamination safely pulls these hidden contaminants out of the microscopic pores of your paint, leaving the clear coat completely smooth as glass and perfectly prepped for high-gloss machine polishing.

Light, surface-level pet hair that can be lifted during our standard vacuuming pass is always included. However, if your pet has fine hair that has become mechanically woven deep into the carpet fibers and cloth upholstery—requiring specialized extraction tools, rubber pumice stones, and significant extra manual labor—it falls under our Pet Hair Removal Treatment (+$50).
